2015 Year-end message

Hello All FTNCG Members and Supporters

This has been another great year for the Forest Town Nature Conservation Group – with plenty of attention paid to making improvements to Spa Ponds.
Our thanks go to all the volunteers who have helped FTNCG throughout 2015, and to those who have kindly donated to support the charity, including our Councillors and ASDA.

Notes from our recent (2nd December) open Committee meeting are now available from: http://www.foresttown.net/nature/FTNCG_Committee_Notes_2_December_2015.pdf
I would be happy to answer any questions arising from these notes.
Please make a note of the following dates for your 2016 diary:
  • Fun Friday work sessions at Spa Ponds (with Rich) will restart from 12 Noon – 2pm on Fridays 8th & 22nd January 2016, continuing on Fridays 5th & 19th February
  • The next Open Committee Meeting will take place at the Forest Town Welfare (Arena) from 7pm on Wednesday 2nd March 2016
  • We expect there to be hundreds of toads to count from sometime in March / April 2016
  • We will be providing further details about plans for a Forest Town History Day as and when
  • FTNCG Meetings will start up again on Wednesday evening 6th April, with meetings also planned for 4th May (AGM) and 15th June
  • No doubt we will find some more balsam to pull from around May
  • We are very excited about having arranged for a Bat Walk on Friday 13th May 2016, from 9pm
  • We are also looking forward to a moth trapping and identifying session with Ian in late May / early June (depending on the weather)
Hope you all enjoy the holidays.
All the best,
Shlomo, Lorraine, Josh, Richard and the rest of the FTNCG Trustees
