Included 6 training sessions delivered by Andy Hollis supporting biodiversity at Spa Ponds (11th May, 9th July, 28th Sept., 19th Oct., 26th Nov., 7th Dec. 2022)
Followed up with cascade learning on the Saturday sessions
Training included:
Identifying and recording veteran and potential veteran oak trees (at the top of Peel Wood)
Hedgerow management, including evaluation of future hedgerow work, tree and plant identification, and dead hedging
Identifying suitable locations for bird and bat boxes
Health & Safety training – both generic and as it relates to crown raising, coppicing, felling, and other tree work, including a special focus on the safe use of billhooks
