One of our ongoing projects involves planting wildflowers to provide food for pollinators such as butterflies, hoverflies, and bees as part of maintaining a ‘pollinator corridor’ at Spa Ponds.
We have been working on this project since 2020. An important aspect of this work entails maintaining a dead hedge along the bottom of the Chestnut Wood to help protect our pollinator corridor from dogs, etc.
November 2023
In November 2023 volunteers from the M2M Sherwood Landscape Partnership, under the guidance of Natilee (Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s Volunteer Organiser), together with FTNCG volunteers and volunteers from Galliford Try joined forces to replace some missing posts and to generally restore and liven up our dead hedge.
